Dave Batalo has been collecting Civil War artifacts since the mid-1970’s.  He has spent many hours searching battlefields and campsites with a metal detector, and has found some very special and unique items.  He became interested in Civil War photography in 2011, after seeing a Virginia soldier image on a dealer’s website.  Dave now is a passionate collector of identified Virginia cased images, and has had images from his collection displayed in Military Images magazine.  He has also co-authored articles for the magazine.  Now retired, Dave has determined to enjoy his hobby to the fullest by becoming proprietor of Richmond Civil War Antiques, LLC.  Dave’s goal is to bring to the marketplace some quality Southern images, as well as other fine Civil War antiques.  He hopes that you find something of interest to you in this catalogue.
