Description

This little Yankee image really has a lot of content.  The soldier is double armed with a Colt revolver and Sheffield knife in his belt.   He is wearing a shell jacket with staff buttons.  The jacket has a pocket on the chest and shoulder tabs, and even though the button design is not discernable, I believe it to be a New York jacket.  Wrapped around one of the buttons is a lanyard or long watch chain, which is partially placed in the jacket pocket like a watch would be.  His kepi has the company letter E on the front, which was turned around to read correctly.  The kepi buckle is visible just above the brim of the hat.  The soldier is posed with a serious look, almost a scowl for the camera.  He is most likely demonstrating the serious nature of Civil War for all to see.  The image has some bends which do not detract from the soldier, and it is housed in a half leatherette case.  This is a nice, inexpensive Yankee image with good content.
