Description
This sixth plate ambrotype depicts a serious Confederate soldier seated next to a large table. The soldier is wearing a Type II depot jacket that appears to be somewhat large for his frame. He sports a bow tie and frown, and considering the new condition of the jacket, he could be newly enlisted. The image is nicely posed with some color on the tablecloth and the soldier’s face, and it provides a fine view of a depot jacket. The buttons have been gilded and cannot be identified. It is housed in a complete leatherette case.
