Description

This nice Virginia Confederate group consists of a sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a young early war soldier in his suit and kepi seated with a friend or relative.  There is a ninth plate tintype of a young man and a ninth plate daguerreotype of a woman in the group.  The only person identified is the woman.  In the back of the case is her name, which looks like “Perlie Minor” (the first name is hard to read).  It also says “Oakland, VA Nov. 13th 1856.”  Research might help determine who they are, as all of the images were together.  The sixth plate image is housed in a complete leatherette case with repaired spine.  The two ninth plate images are in half leatherette cases.  A nice family grouping with an early war look.
