Description

This incredible image is the best child in uniform I have seen.  It depicts a young southern boy in Zouave dress, whose kepi appears to have crossed sabres on it.  The image is exceptional in every way, including content, condition, and coloring.  The family must have been well-to-do, as the uniform was certainly tailored and is well appointed.  The image has a Rees quality to it, but the thermoplastic case has a Pratt’s Gallery pillow in it.  I cannot confirm if the pillow is original to the case, however.
