Description
This image depicts a nicely armed and outfitted Confederate soldier from Virginia. Although unknown, the image came from Madison, VA. The soldier is wearing a simple uniform with gray shell jacket and trousers. He has several linen slings crossed over his chest, two of which likely are for haversacks and one for a canteen. The accoutrements are pulled to the back and out of view. A side knife and pistol are tucked into his leather belt with roller buckle. The pistol has a round barrel and could be a Colt Dragoon or Confederate made Colt copy. He is holding a musket with attached bayonet. There is some solarization under the mat which does not affect the image. This is a very fine image of a triple armed Confederate. Housed in a nice thermoplastic case.
